Five Phase is a structural engineering practice based in New York City focusing on high-end residential projects and special structures across the United States. We provide thoughtful, team-oriented design services throughout all project phases and enjoy doing good work with nice people.

Tory Struck  is the founder of Five Phase. Before hanging his own shingle, he worked at Silman [now TYLin Buildings] for over a decade, absorbing experience on a wide range of project types and learning the importance of being a good collaborator. Tory approaches all projects with an open mind and a dry sense of humor. He is especially drawn to projects with highly integrated assemblies and tight construction tolerances. These projects involve thoughtful collaboration between disciplines and present opportunities to create structures that go beyond typical analysis and detailing.

Lizzie Olson is the coconspirator and inaugural coworker of Five Phase. Prior to joining forces with Tory, she also worked at Silman [now TYLin Buildings] for over a decade and then pivoted to project management at The Frick Collection, where she helped oversee all aspects of their transformational Renovation and Enhancement Project. Lizzie gravitated to design and construction through a love for old buildings. She brings a sense of curiosity and perspective to all her projects, and she savors getting to know buildings inside and out, discovering their hidden structures and stories.
